Prairie Rail Solutions delivers rail services grounded in safety, precision, and a commitment to doing the right thing, every time.

Our Story
pRAIRIE FORGED
Founded in 2012, Prairie Rail Solutions began as a support organization for the Prairie Dog Central Railway, initially focused on rail car storage for customers across Western Canada.
While this model was successful in strong markets, it proved vulnerable during periods of disruption. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed the risks of relying on a single revenue stream and underscored the need for long-term operational stability.
In October 2024, PRS appointed Chief Executive Officer Tim Brewer, marking the beginning of a strategic transformation. With a small but committed team, the company set out to diversify its services, strengthen its infrastructure, and build a more resilient business.
Key investments in maintenance equipment and workforce development laid the foundation for Prairie Rail Solutions’ Maintenance of Way capabilities. In 2025, the team delivered its first major rehabilitation project on the Prairie Dog Central Railway, restoring the 17-mile line to regulatory compliance and completing more than 2,000 tie replacements and major ballast upgrades in a single season.
This success became a turning point.
Building on this momentum, PRS expanded into track inspection, maintenance, industrial switching, and first- and last-mile services. The company began supporting new customers and working alongside major rail operators, steadily growing its reputation for reliability and professionalism.
By the end of 2026, Prairie Rail Solutions had diversified its business model, expanded its customer base by more than 160 percent, and grown from a single employee to a multi-disciplinary operating team.
Today, PRS delivers comprehensive rail services for agricultural, industrial, and short-line partners across the Prairies.
Through every phase of growth, we have remained focused on partnership, accountability, and long-term reliability. We work alongside our customers to strengthen their operations, reduce risk, and support sustainable growth.
In a volatile and evolving industry, Prairie Rail Solutions has proven that resilience is built, not inherited.
We are, and always will be, Prairie Forged.
