What the Work Looks Like
-
As a Track Labourer, you will work with experienced crews responsible for maintaining railway track infrastructure. Typical responsibilities include assisting with track repairs including replacing rails, ties, spikes, bolts, and fasteners. You will operate railway hand tools and small equipment such as spike mauls, tie tongs, rail saws, and track jacks while supporting track alignment, gauging, and leveling work.

Additional responsibilities include clearing brush, debris, and snow from railway rights-of-way, loading and unloading rail materials and equipment, maintaining safe and organized work areas, participating in safety briefings and job hazard assessments, and reporting track defects or hazards to supervisors. Track labourers may also assist with yard maintenance or other rail-related duties as required.

-
Successful candidates will be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds while working on uneven terrain. Applicants should be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work effectively as part of a team. A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required, while a Class 3 or higher license is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
-
Railway work takes place outdoors in all weather conditions and involves physical labour in active rail environments. Employees may experience exposure to loud equipment, vibration, dust, and heavy lifting. Depending on seasonal workloads, overtime or extended hours may occasionally be required.
What We Offer
